Breakthrough Bleeding?

Question:
I'm on the birth control pill Loestrin 1/20, and lately I've been have breakthrough bleeding(bleeding during the white pills). Is it the pill thats causing it or should I go to the doctor?

Answers:
Breakthrough bleeding is common with BC, esp in the first 90 days. If you've been taking it more than 3 months and are all of a sudden having BT bleeding, this may be an issue- but if it's a new pill for you- give your system some time to adjust
It could be something simple, like you just need a different dose of the hormone. Or it could be more serious.

My wife had breakthrough bleeding and went to her doctor many times and got many different types of pills but still the same thing.

Much later, when we were trying to get pregnant, we discovered she had a uterine fibroid, which had to be surgically removed.

You should go to the Doctor and explore the choices and don't rule out the idea it might be something other than the pill.
how long have you been on it? it took me quite a few mos to get regulated properly on them.
Break through bleeding can be caused by birth control pills, but i think you should see your doctor.
