I wanted to ask if anyone here knows of women that are 55 or older and still having periods. TIA.?

Question:
I am mostly curious as I am approaching that age..is this normal for women to STILL have
periods at THAT age or older?

Answers:
yes some women have their periods well into their 60's. it is all normal every person is different. in my family most women end in their late 50's i think my grandmother ended at age 58.
Some women still experience their period at this age, yes. Your body hasn't decided to change yet, so hang in there. It is a genuine relief not to have to worry about that anymore.I LOVE it!! Sorry, just had to revel a little.

When your body is ready (mine at 53) then it will happen. My mom didn't go through menopause until 56, so I know at least one person.
TIA? from having your period?i think not.what's your doctor have to say because you should be getting yearly exams esp.get pap smear, mammogram.
Sure some do. They are now saying the earlier your period starts in life the later it stops. Girls are getting their periods extremely young these days so they may have a long way to go. I know mine started at 10 and I'm 52 and still get it pretty regularly.
my mom is 56 and still has hers
