Scared about Tampons =/ Advice?

Question:
So my friends block party is tomorrow and I am due for my period any second now! We are bound to go swimming. I have some playtex sport tampons, but I never used them. I've never actually used a tampon before. I talked to my mom about them, but she said she didn't use them untill she was 18! I'm 14 but i don't want to go one week every month without swimming! are using tampons painful? And what was your first time like wearing a tampon?

Answers:
tampons don't hurt in the SLIGHTEST. i used one the second time i ever had my period. just make sure you push it in far enough, or it will slide out a little bit, and that's uncomfortable and sometimes i little bit painful. don't use it if your period doesn't come. it's really bad for you.

wear a dark bathing suit, and if you're out of the pool, sit on a towel, just in case. if you feel like your period came, go to the bathroom and check. if it did, put in a tampon. don't tense your muscles, that makes it harder to put in. just relax when you do it. make sure to keep atleast one in your pool bag incase that happens! good luckkkk.
No, if you put them in correctly you cant feel them at all! Dont stress it! follow the directions on the box and you should be a ok!
they dont hurt at all if its in right, and putting it in doesnt hurt either. you cant feel it when it's in, I PROMISE

my first time it was fine, i couldnt feel it, but it felt kinda wierd taking it out. at first though, i put one in wrong and it hurt because it wasnt in all the way since i didnt insert the applicator and everything.

read the directions that came with your box, believe me, it is a must. theyre so great because you dont have to worry about smell, and you can do anything with them in.

good luck
The only time they are painful for me is when they weren't quite all the way in. It took some practice and getting used to, but it is so much easier...for me I had a lot more freedom because I had a very heavy flow when younger so using pads was a mess and I was always worried about leaks, smell, etc...with tampons, those worries are gone! Give it a try!
Follow the directions and use some Vaseline on the tube. They are very comfortable but make sure you change them regularly.
Just relax and slide it in. Also make sure to lean back on the toilet. It shouldn't hurt or irritate you at all. Good Luck! =)
they arent painful at all if you put it in right you wont feel it. my first tie using a tampon was when i was 13. i was nervous but once i put it in everything was cool. just relax cause if your tense you wont get it in right and then it might be uncomfortable. if you can feel that its not in right then tke it out and try with a compltely different one. good luck.
It has instructions in the box that will tell you everything...
Don't worry about anything, they don't hurt, and you can't tell they're in
If it hurts when it's in you probably have it in wrong, so you just take it out, get a new one and try again
Tampons arent painful. I was always thought they were. And no they do not take your virgininty away, even though you didnt ask Ive had alot of friends tell me thats why they dont use them. but its not true.
Anways the first time i used a tampon it was uncomfortable at first cause I didnt insert it right. What you should do is when you get your period put one in and walk around the house a few times and if it feels uncomfortable take it out and reinsert it. and walk around again if it still feels uncomfortable then dont wear one. theres no law or rule that states you gotta wear one.
And if your going to a pool party the one thing I can say is wear the tampon in the pool but as soon as its over take it out and change to a maxi.
Remember never ever leave it in longer than 8 hours. its highly dangerouse. I know its very scary to think about the whole tss thing but the only way youll get tss is if you leave it in way to long. such as there was a case that my mother told me when she worked in the ER. A girl came in and had tss. She left her tampon in for 14 hours straight. she said that was her only case of tss that she had ever seen.

Me I dont use tampons all the time. I regulate between tampons and maxis. at work ill wear tampons cause its alot easier and i dont have to worry about bleeding through. and when i get home i switch to maxis that way if i have an accident its okay cause im home and what does it matter.

I hope ive given you some thoughts on this.

That will tell you how to use tampon. God luck.
Well.I didn't use them until I was 23. I tried once when I was a teen, it didn't go in, I never tried again. I just didn't swim for that week and tanned by the pool instead. Once I did use one for the first time I didn't push it up far enough, but my older sister showed me how. I explained it below.

If you do decide to try one out you have to insert it at an angle facing the back of you. Your vagina doesn't go straight up and down, it's tilted to the back. Once you get it in that angle, it'll slide in VERY easily. If not...it'll seem tough to go in, but just wiggle it until you find the right spot.

Make sure you push it up as far as you can get it. You'll know if it's not in there far enough because you'll feel it when you sit down. It's uncomfortable! If that happens, just use your middle finger (since it's the longest) and push it up more and that'll do the trick.

You'll change it depending on how heavy or light your period is. Just don't leave it in there more then 8 hours to be on the safe side.
tampons arent painful at all! playtex sport is a good brand w/ a plastic applicator!! u should have no trouble at all if u read the instructions and relax when inserting it!!... my frist time was when i was 15.. it was different.. i didnt feel it inside of me but i thought about it alot! i got used to it.. they are easy to use!!.. try tampax pearl sumtime in the future they are great!! good luck and have fun!!:)
I started using tampons when I just got my period when I had just turned 13 and I have never had any problems. Playtex Sports are good tampons, they have wrappers with CHEESY sayings on them, lol! but they're good even though I recommend Playtex SlimFits to young teens and beginners because they're smaller than the average tampon.

Tampons are not painful at all, if you feel any pain with them or you're aware of it being "there" then you didn't put it in correctly. The vajayjay actually lies FLAT so put it in HORIZONTALLY.

During my first time wearing a tampon I already knew how to put one in because my bestfriend showed me how to put one in half a year before I got my first period (=

Good Luck and have fun swimming (:
