Penicillin and birth control?

Question:
I've been taking penicillin 500mg for about 10-12 days now. Along with my penicillin, Ive been taking my birth control pils now for a year.

How long should I wait until I could have sex without a condom? How long will it take my pills to become active again.

Any help will do. Thanks

Answers:
anytime you take antibiotics and are on bcp's you should wait until you start your period again. before you have unprotected sex.
unless you start taking the antibiotics the week you are due for your period then you want to wait until your next period.
Well we all know antibiotics and birth control don't mix cause it decreases the effectiveness of the birth control. I would wait until you are off the penicillin then wait to start a new pack of pills. Seven days after your new pack u should be safe to have unprotected sex without getting pregnant. You can also called your doctor and ask him/her as well.
at least 2 weeks b/c the penicillin will stay in your system
Continue to use condoms 10 days after the last day of the antibiotic just to be safe but...
