What happens when you skip a period?

Question:
when you skip a period just because you are irregular, does it mean that you didn't shed your uterine lining, or that you didn't build one that month?

for example, if you go 6 months without a period, does it mean that you have the same uterine lining the whole time, or that you have no uterine lining for the first 5 months of it?

Answers:
Generally it means you aren't ovulating normally, which also means your hormone production isn't happening at a regular pace. It's more than likely that your uterine lining is just building SLOWLY and will slough off about 2 weeks after ovulation occurs, as long as there is no fertilization of course.
i would like to know this.
It means the uterine lining is building up. And all of the infection and blood. So when u finally have one, you'll have a very heavy flow. Cause i am going through it right now.
