Why won't my period come?

Question:
It's been almost 2 months since I've had it. I'm a virgin so I know I can't be pregnant. I read once that if you're under a lot of stress, it can cause your period to be delayed. Is this true?

Answers:
Two months is nothing to get worried about. You can skip periods from any change in behavior. Disrupting routines in your life like stress, diet, exercise, sleep, anything. And it doesn't have to be a huge change to upset your cycles. I always miss at least one a year due to stress, usually around Christmas. Sometimes its 4 months before things calm down again, and the moment that happens I start. The worst thing you could do right now is worry more. If you can, see your doctor. If not, things will be fine. However if there is any pain associated to this then I would definitely seek help. Any cramping or nausea, or light spotting, weakness and fatigue should set off some red flags. If you feel fine and just skipped due to stress, make sure you eat and sleep enough, take a good multi and B vitamins. Things be just fine.
yes, also if you just started it, it will take a few years for it to be regular.
yes this is true, but check with your doctor, two mo is already a long time...
not at all. is this your first period?
yes it is but you really need to see a doc
Yeah stress can do that. you should talk to your dr.
yes. also, if you are young and just started your period, it can be super irregular.

talk to your gynecologist about it.
because you parents gave you a sex change operation when u were born
Two months is a long time.

There have been plenty of cases where women who considered themselves virgins got pregnant from fooling around toooo seriously...if you think you may be in this position, take a test
Stress can affect your cycle. But other things such as cysts and other health problems can also cause this problem. You should see your doctor soon. Two months is really too long, something may be wrong.
recomend going to a doctor
yes the stress thing is true and if u have never been regular then u should be used to this and if ur like in ur teens then this happens sometimes it just means that u have no extra blood in ur body
im with the rest of em its stress due to the fact of you covering up that your not a virgin anymore and are in fact prego
yes, def stress and heat. maybe if you are starting school soon this could be affecting you. sometimes your diet could affect it too. the only part that sucks, if youre a virgin is that now you dont know when its going to start again
It could be stress or some other things. It could also be late if you are to skinny or to fat...if it doesn't come in the next month I would go see your family doctor.
Yes it is true. Also very athletic women sometimes go months without periods.
First bet is asking your mom and going to a doctor.

Second, I get my periods only 11 times a year...
yeah sometimes its irregular.
i didn't get it for like 6 months once it was weird.
go talk to a doctor if you're worried though.
MY SISTER STARTED AND HAD ONE FOR A YEAR THEN STOPPED AND DIDNT HAVE AOTHER FOR 2 YEARS! I THINK YOU JUST DONT HAVE ONE SOMETIMES! YOU COULD TAKE BIRTH CONTROL AND IT WOULD REGULATE IT!
If you are not eating properly, (like not at all) you can miss your period. There are other things that can cause this also, talk to your doctor.
Yes. I just recently missed mine for 3 months because of stress. It happens.
yes, that is something that I have heard, but there are many things that could be going on with you. If you have an OB/GYN I suggest you call them and get an appt. I would want to know what was going on and make sure your okay. Best of luck to you. I hope you are fine.
Very strenuous exercise on a regular basis can cause periods to be less regular.
There could be several medical reasons why you are having this trouble. Most common is a hormonal imbalance.Good news,in that very easily treated with a low dose of BCP's. Make an appointment with your MD to get this sorted out. Yes stress can be the cause also, but not as likely with one your age.Take care. SW RNP
if you are under 2 years of periods it can come at anytime as most will be regular after the first year but some up to 2years, if this is your case no need to worry as hormones are still building, and yes periods can be effected by many causes, stress, diet, medications, physical activity, illness and injuries
you kinda just answered your question...stress
Stress, too much exercise, or dramatic change in diet can cause this.
yes stress tension does play amajor role
take stress tab or comp-b that will help u
umm once i didnt have my period for months, i think you are in the early years where it gets odd paterns, dont worry one day it will be fixed it happens to almost all girls you just need time for your menstral to get it right.
