My period still isn't regular...?

Question:
I started my period 2 years ago, and it's still not regular. For the first year or so I know that's ok. At the start of the 2nd year it was still irregular. For a while it was every 3 weeks then it was gone for 2 months. Over the next 6 months I had 3 irregularly spaced. Now the last time I had a period was the last week of May, and it's been 2 years so I think it should be regular by now. Should I get checked by a doctor? if so, would it have to be a gyno, because I'm only 17 and really uncomfortable with that thought. Also if it matters there is a history of endometrosis and other uterine disorders on my mom's side. All help appreciated.

Answers:
Ive had my period for 3 years and its still not regular.. its normal for almost every girl to have irregular periods after 2 or 3 years. Any longer than that you should get checked out by a doctor and they will probably stick u on birth control to regulate your period.

Talk to your doctor.. they might send you to a gyno or tell you to wait another 6 months. Dont be uncomfortable.. All girls have to go to a gyno when they turn 18.. Im a little worried about going but its fine..
Nothing to worry about though.
my period isn't regular yet and i've had it for 3 years now.
talking to the doctor isn't a bad idea if you are really concerned about this
DEon't stress yet. Its probably just normal. honestly I never had a normal period from 12 through 17 until i started taking birth control then even when i came off it it stayed normal.. i wouldnt think endometrosis that causes real bad pains and stuff and you havent mentioned that.. But still go to the doc and the gyno is not bad at all if your uncomfortable with a guy/ girl whichever just request the other.. they will work with you nad wont do nothing you dont allow. its always a scarey thought but its nothing to it..
If you are concerned then talk to your doctor. Its wise to get these things checked out especially if you have a family history of problems with periods. It willlput your mind at rest.
