I think it was probably and early positive. You may want to try the original brand that you first tested with.
There is varying research on what cycle days to take clomid, some say 5-9 others say 3-7 I've even heard 2-6. I took Clomid and Femara (just like clomid but less side effects) on every cycle day set above and it never got me pregnant, though I did ovulate everytime. I did end up getting pregnant and having 2 children but other methods of fertility treatments were used.
It's a great sign if you had a positive test, it means that Clomid may work for you. It wasn't a false positive, those are EXTERMELY rare and usually due to medication (HCG shot). I would say give the clomid a few more runs, as long as you can stand the side effects (I couldn't). If it doesn't work go tho the next step.
I know and completely understand the heartbreak and struggle of infertility. No one understands unless they have been there.
Good luck, I hope you have your bundle of joy soon.
I got pregnant with twins on my 2nd cycle of 50mg clomid. I lost one of the twins, but I was able to hold on to the other, who is now 2.5 years old. I would call your OBGYN. I agree that you should try another test in the morning with FMU. Almost 5 years ago, I took a test and it was faint positive and a couple days later I started bleeding and had a m/c. But, my friend just delivered her faint positive w/ spotting baby on Thursday.
I think you should call your doctor and have him do a blood test.
