Question:

ok i wanna wear tampons cuz u don't have to change them as much as pads and i don't know how to tell/ask my mom!! i hate pads cuz u have to change them every few hours and it feels like i'm wearing a diaper!! umm wut else...ohh i got my first period yesterday (this is my first time having it ever) so the question is: how do i tell my mom i wanna wear tampons?? or should i wait a while?

With this being your first period, I would hold off a bit on the tampons, they can be uncomfortable. Too, your cycles may not become regulated for up to a year...you may not have another one for a couple of months, then again, you could have one next month then not the next; it is different for every girl.

If you feel you cannot handle a pad, start with the smallest/slimmest tampon you can and practice inserting one, see if it feels comfortable - if not, remove it and try a new one. If the flow leaks around that tampon once you get it established, move up to the next size, keep doing this until you notice flow is restrained and you are still comfortable.

Duh me! Go straight to your mom and be open with her. She has been in your situation before and knows the anxiety you are feeling.

you can tell your mom just ask if she can buy you tampons instead of pads. Its really no big deal nothing to be embarrassed about. =]

u have to change tampons every 4 to 6 hours and pads u ahve to change at the most every 48 hours u do the mathh. If you dont change a tamponw ithin that time there is a chance u will leak.

I dont think its a big deal, just go and ask her. And if she disagrees right now, then make an agreement with her to maybe you trying tampons next time and see if your more comfortable with them.

its dangerous to not change your tampon often, it can lead to toxic shock which could result in serious female problems. pads arent that bad if you buy the slim kind for young teens and you get used to them. if you really want to use tampons, your mom should understand its your body and your decision.

Tell her why you dont like wearing pads and that you would like to try tampons instead.
