Endometriosis: SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY?

Question:

I have endometriosis. Recently, I was in a car accident and suffered some minor back injuries (i.e. whiplash). I am currently on the pill every day, so I have no cycle. After the accident, I had a couple of days of a light cycle, which is standard when there's trauma to the lower back (I've experienced this before). This week, I had a full blown cycle, which is excruciatingly painful. My chiropractor, who I have been getting adjustments from for about a month now, stated that she wasn't sure why I would have this all of a sudden. I've taken 3 birth control pills in the past 24 hours and it still hasn't stopped my cycle (like it normally would). Has this happened to any else? Any thoughts? I'm going to try and see my doctor tomorrow, but thought I would ask the community. *SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY*

I am so sorry to hear that you were in an accident, however I know how you feel. I was struck by a car 3 years ago and 6 years ago I was informed I have Endo. Anyways after the accident I had a full blown cycle, even though at the time I was on Lupron shots, but both my reg doc and my gyn that because of the trama from the accident it was normal but if it continued on for more then a week then it would be time to worry. I am happy to say that it stopped after just a few days.

Do not EVER take more than the normal amount of BC pills unless SPECIFICALLY told to do so by an OBGYN!

Get to a gynocologist ASAP, it might be normal, but probably isnt.

With endometreosis, as you know, if you have ANY bleeding, it's gonna be pretty darned heavy, so that's not helping.

If you start hurting again, or bleeding really heavily, get to the ER if nothing else, ok?

I think it's probably just your body's reaction to everything... your doctor should be able to give you something to help the pain. I hope you feel better!!

During times of extreem stress (ie car accident) your body will react by having irregular periods, disrupted sleep patterns, hair loss and many other strange symptoms. Trauma to the lower back should not cause spotting. Please only take your BC pills as directed.

I don't think taking three birth control pills in one day would really help that. It sounds like the accident is either affecting you internally or your endometriosis is acting up. Birth control pills helps slow down endometrial growth, and most of the time it does a pretty good job. The other way to help with endometriosis is by doing a D&C, which is a minor surgery, but should help for a little while. My mother and I both have endometriosis. I'm now on the birth control pills and my mom had the D&C at first and then a complete hysterectomy.

Sorry about r accident, I've been in a few to.
I've had Endometriosois for 20 yrs. and there is nothing that'll stop it! It even ruined my marriage trying the Intro Vetro Fetus (IVF) as I couldn't get pregnant. I had an Obulation Operation at 49 & near a yr. went by, then I started having 8 day periods
pain, & gulf ball blood clots, 3-4 pads at once, & Anemic! For 2 mnths, plus I have Fibromyalgia, Ostio-Arthritis in 60% of my body, & Sciatica. I got Fibro from a severe knife attack by a stranger raped, held captive, & knife wounds all over including my neck several times with 2 butcher-block knives, 1 he broke stabbing me in the back.
I went threw "Post Tramatic Stress" for 2 yr
and believe U can be going threw the same

that as Trauma is Trauma however U exp. it. U may feel o.k. but it's alway's there. I think U should seek help, Physciatrist? And I'd go to a G.Y.N. real soon, U'll get more action from a her, as u can't take 3 b.c. pills in a 24 hr. time! I wish U had told me R age I'd be able to assist U better?

P.S. My periods have been last 2 mnths & am now 50! Seeing my GYNO next week, I know the Fibroids R back & want a D. & C.
