Go see a gyneacologist and discuss this with him/her. Mostly they will recommend the pill but if you don't want to go on the pill there might be other options. A gyno will be able to examine you to find out whether there might be something else wrong causing these painful periods.
walking around helps me a lot.
One thing I remember from nursing school was, the best medication for a period is aspirin. Take as directed. Hope you feel better.
if your cramps are THAT bad, you should go see your doctor. not to scare you but this sounds serious
the key is u have to stop them before they start. like. Take Aleve when you feel the symptoms coming about. That works most of the time for me.
if birth control is not an option for you, you should at least start taking a multivitamin. lack of iron, calcium, and protein can make periods a lot worse than they need to be.
before your period starts, make sure to eat plenty of bananas, meat, and milk products (yougurt, milk, etc). and see if that helps.
I had cramps forever and they would put me on my knees. I found that pamprin is the med that stops the pain. Extra strength is the best--as a kid there was midol but it was never in my price range so I just toughed it out--believe in this one Pamprin works to stop the pain. After I had my first child the cramps were not every month but I have no idea as to prevention.
Get a good heating pad and put it on your stomach. There is therma care heat wraps that you can buy at your local drug store/pharmacy. THey work great for 10 hours and you get to what ever you do during the day and not have to worry about those cramps. The heat from the wraps are wonderful and even I tried them and I just went about my day like any other day.
I used to have horrible cramps like these..the ONLY thing that helped me was the pill.
