Kidney transplant and severe PMS cramps?

Question:
I had a kidney transplant about a year ago and every time of the month I get pms cramps so bad that I break out in a sweat and get dizzy this ussally last about an hour if I take a high potinant pain killer. I know its not affecting my kidney though cause my function is so good that I dont have to go back for a year now but could it be from the kidney laying above the ovaries or something?

Answers:
There is no link between your graft kidney and your ovaries. They belong to different organ systems and should not be related.

Please check your thyroid level. I am guessing you might suffer from Hypothyroidism. One classic symptom is painful/ heavy menstruation with cramps.

I had your symptoms till my endocrinologist increased my dosage of Levothyoxine. I am symptom free now.

So, I would suggest talking to your nephrologist and/ or your GP. A simple blood test can reveal a lot.

Good Luck!
