If I talked to my doctor ... would she ??

Question:
Alrighty ... I suffer my Anxiety attacks and am on Zoloft and have been for about 4 months now and have to go back for a check up on wednesday. Things I thought were getting better excepct for the last couple of weeks i've gotten really anxious and I had a couple big attacks when out in public. This week coming up I have a big test ... an appointment with my college and then a concent at an arena ( last time i was there about 8 months ago I had a bad attack). I was wondering if on wednesday before these 4 things take place when I go to the doctor if I should see if she would give me ativan or xanax for times that i need to relax myself. I know its not a total fix but i just mean to help me get through big events like these. Any help or knowledge that would help?

Answers:
you may need your dose increased.

I found that zoloft didnt work with my anxiety and had to have another med. so I switched to CELEXA, works great. I had a bit of a panic episode a few nights ago. It wasnt anything I couldnt handle, I could feel it in me.. but I got over it quickly.

ask your dr about switching meds.
There is no harm in asking. I've suffered from anxiety for about 8 years now and was recently diagnosed with depression. For my anxiety I was given xanax to help me when I knew I was going to be needing it, like you. I don't take the xanax everyday but for episodes when I think I will need it I'll take it. Bring it up with your doctor and explain the situations that are coming up. It is possible that you need a larger dosage of the Zoloft. Good Luck!
