Depending on which end you use, I would advise against it. If you use the handle and it is plastic and *clean*, okay, that's one thing. But the other end may force air up inside you and that could cause a serious problem--namely, death--which you don't want. If you can use it in a way that it doesn't push air into you, then maybe it will be all right. Sounds a little awkward and uncomfortable to me, but whatever works for you.
I would think it's quite normal.
Considering I take a condom and place it around a hair brush.
I think whatever gets you going is good enough.
