Preterm labor concerns.?

So recently I've had all sorts of problems with my pregnancy. I'm about 32 1/2 wks preg and was recently classified high risk for preterm labor. It seems I have a highly shortened cervix. I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis and that has cleared up with some antibiotic - but it seems the harshness of the medicine (administered via suppository) has began to tear apart the mucus plug - so that is starting to dislodge. They gave me betamethodone(sp?) to mature the baby's lungs a little bit and my doctor said at this point if I go into labor she won't stop it. I also had 2 fetal fibernectin(sp?) tests come back positive but the fernings were both negative(both test to detect the presence of amniotic fluid. But I'm still going through 2-3 pads a day - with clear, odorless fluid (indicative of amnio) I'm not dilated at all yet. My question is now this. I recently found a bit of spotting - med pink to bright red - is this from all the recent pelvics? Or should I call the hospital?

Answers:
You should probably call your doctor, or the hospital, just to let them know and make the call. The color isn't so important, as blood will often go pinkish red when exposed to air- it's the amount that is important. I assume you are home on bedrest, and that's where you should be- laying out unless you have to go to the bathroom. Try to stay calm as you can. My second son was born at just over 36 weeks, weighing in at 5pounds 2 ounces. He had no problems breathing, fortunately, and did just fine. He's now a very healthy 10 year old, doing fine in school and finished 4th grade with mostly A's and a couple B's. (English not being a favorite subject!) So good luck and best wishes.
