Question:
I'm getting married on Aug. 30, and really don't want to be on my period. I'm not on the pill and haven't been for a while now. I know that you have to take it right after you get off your period. I'm just getting off my period now. So if I go and get the pill from my Dr. and not take it right away will it mess with my body in any way?
Answers:
This is something you can try but since the side efffects of the birth control pill can actually be irregular bleeding and spotting and this is especially common in the first few cycles.
At best your chances of success or 50/50.
Your best bet is to go to your GYN or put a call in and see what he/she recommends you try.
Yes, the pill can cause other symptoms as well and vary with different pills and dosages. Most common are irritabilty, water retention and headaches.
Call right away and hopefully they will have a good suggestion!
Congrats on the wedding and regardless ---enjoy your special day!
