Planned parenthood and birth control pill?

Question:
how much would I have to pay for an examination and the birth control pill if I don't have insurance?

are there many different kinds of birth control pills?

does orthotricyclen really help lessen pimples?

Answers:
Planned Parenthood is a free clinic but they do take donations. So if you have some bucks to spare, help out. There are numerous types of birth controls. You have the pill, the patch, the shot, etc...

Although some people have experienced decrease in breakouts, that doesn't imply that orthotricyclen is your next proactiv.

Check out http://www.plannedparenthood.org/index.h... for further info.
Try to go to your heatlh clinic. Usually the exams are free, and any medication is based on y our income.

But The price of an exam and pills usually depends on your location. I have seen birth control pills ranger anywhere from 45-60$ a month without insurance. Exams can be over $100.
All birth control pills do. Orthro-Tricyclen is the only one ... or one of the few that actually was smart enough to advertise it. It is the hormone that is in it. It increases your estrogen and progesterone so the testosterone that makes you break out isn't so strong.

Yes there are A LOT of oral contraceptives! Your doctor will choose which is best. Don't worry the majority have a generic to them and it is cheaper. It should not be too expensive. Call Planned Parenthood and ask them how much it will be for the visit. Also call the Pharmacy when you get your prescription. Many times your doctor will give you at least 3 month samples of the pill, just to make sure it will work for you.

Everyone reacts differently to the pill so that is why you should have samples of the one that is chosen for you. You may be the one that breaks out with a specific one. Also bleeds with another one. So be patient and know that the first one may not be the right one... and it also may be the right one.

ORTHO-TRICYCLEN IS NOT THE ONLY BIRTH CONTROL THAT HELPS WITH ACNE!
Im not sure about the price of it all, but I'm sure it is worth the cost. To my understanding Planned Parenthood was sort of a free-clinic, but I beleive the "Morning After" pill or Emergency Contraception is something you have to purchase. I could be wrong though.

As far as different pills. I beleive there is a type of combination pill, then a hormone only pills which is progestin.

The majority of women that I know use the combination pill. That is the one that you take 3 weeks worth of pills then the last weeks pills are either iron tablets or sugar tablets just to keep you on track during menstration. This pill is taken daily, just as the progestin pill is. But the difference is the progestin pill you need to take pretty much around the same exact time daily, whereas this pill can be taken daily with more of bigger time span.

The other pill is a hormone only pill (progestin), which all 4 weeks of it are actual pills and no 1 week worth of filler tablets. But this pill can be started at any time during the month, as opposed to the combination pill which you need to start cycling within 1-4 days after your period.

The pill that they will give you will decide on your body makeup I beleive. There are different levels of hormone and it depends on your individual.

And as far as Ortho Tricyclen helping lessen pimples, they say it is the only BC proven to help with acne. But I am not too familiar with it. You can take a look at their webpage here http://www.orthotricyclen.com/
