Why does everyone asume somone on the pill (birth control) is only using it do they wont get pregnant?

While YOU are using it for medicinal purposes, it IS after all BIRTH CONTROL.
I think what you need to worry about is NOT rising to the bait. What I want to know is: HOW do people know you're using the pill?
It really is NOBODY's business which medications you take or why. So the next time someone says something tell them straight to their face that it is NOT their business what you're using birth control for.
I know how you feel I have been on BC since I was 15/16 for acne and then I was diagnosed with PCOS where I get ovarian cysts. I love birth control because I don't get cysts anymore. Society has made birth control just a contraceptive but it's also a medication too so I think people need to start realizing this. You are not a whore and don't let people force you into having sex because of this.

I have PMDD as well and when I take my pill every day if any one every ask any questions I don't even tell them it's a birth control as well, I simply state that it is to control my moods and I have a hormonal imbalance.
I'm not sure if you are on Yaz or not but if anyone gives you any crap just tell them Yaz is also prescribed to help with acne and PMDD, it's not JUST a birth control.
People like to make smart comments to bring others down, so when someone tells me to stop having sex I usually tell them that there is no sex to stop.

You are right. The pill isn't just for birth control. I don't even need birth control, as I had the Essure method done (permanent form of bc) back in 04 but I take Yaz strictly for PMDD.
I hope that your PMDD is being kept under control, are you using Yaz?
