Should i go to my regular dr or a gyno??

Question:
Hi. Ive never been to a gyno dr. before and im 18. About weeks ago i had sex w/o a condom. Ive never been w anyone else and i dont think he has either. The past week ive been really itchy down there and i dont know whats wrong. At first I thought i had a uti bc i was having really bad pains in my uterus area. But then it became itchy and today the "lips" look a little swolen and red. And inside of them (that area) is very sore and a little swolen. I dont know whats wrong. I was thinking maybe a bad yeast infection (ive never had one b4), or maybe vaginosis (not sure if that is what its called). What do u think? And i dont know which dr. to go to the gyno or my regular dr. I dont want my mom to know. So what do u think?? And what do u need to "sign up" for the gyno dr.? sry this is kinda dumb. lol thankyou!!

This could be a number of things. Your vagina may just be irritated from having sex the first time. This sounds like a regular yeast infection though. If you're worried about your mom finding out, go to a Walgreens, Target, Walmart, or Kmart and pick up Vagisil or the Vagisil wipes. Follow the directions on the box, and if your symptoms don't clear up and go away I would recommend seeing a gyno. In order to recieve the correct diagnosis the gyno would have to do a vaginal swab and run test. Here are some tips to make the situation a little easier to deal with.To work along with the Vagisil I would reccomend not using soap down there and rinsing with warm water, because soap residue can further irritate the skin. The vagina is self-cleansing, so stay away from the douche. Also, the yeast is a fungus and can stay in your panties, so scrub the crotch of your panties before you wash (if possible use a little bleach). Yeast thrives in a warm, damp atmosphere, so one of the best preventitive measures you can take is to keep the area ventilated, so at night go without panties. You don't have to sign up for the gyno, all you would have to do is find a doctors office you can go to, and call and make an appointment. You can ask the nurse for information on payment and whatever form of i.d. or insurance papers you may need. I really hope this helps because as all women know, yeast infections suck! Also from one girl to another, before you have sex you should probably know how many partners he has had, and if you're to scared to ask ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wear a condom. Just because you're a girl doesn't mean you can't keep condoms in YOUR purse! Best of luck!
gyno! you need someone who is specialized for your area that you are having problems with. and if you dont feel comforable with your gyno go to planned parenthood for a pap or to get counseled. hopefully it is nothing serious. but watch out for unprotected sex with anyone, you dont want that HPV that is going around many people and later leads to cervical cancer. make sure if you are sexually active and since you are 18 anyways to have a pap at least annually.
See a gyno! Just call one and make an appointment. You should have been seeing one anyways.
Sweetie, first of all, How could you, how could you, in this age of HIV, unwanted pregnancy, Herpes, Syphilis etc. Please dont do that again, it's reaaaaallly not worth it. Get condoms that are studded if you want extra sensation. Dont ever let him tell you that he does not like the feel of the condom, your life is a lot more inportant that.

Anyway, Sounds like you have a really bad infection. You should go to a gyanecologist. Remember to cleanse after you have sex and his penis could be dirty, (boys are always dirty).
