Is this normal?

Question:
I've gradually lost a lot of weight (became a vegetarian), well not all at one time but for the past 3 months now, I've gone from 158 to 128. For some reason, I haven't had my menstral cycle for the month of July, I had it for June and the previous months.

Is this normal? Are there any vitamins, I'm taking vitamins, but are there any vitamins essential for regaining my cycle? How long does it take for my body to get regulated & for it to start back? (It's kind of freaking me out, not having it.)

Answers:
Sound like your vegetarian diet is lacking in essential nutrients and fats that you need to be healthy and menstruate. I highly suggest that you see a nutritionist if you wish to continue being a vegetarian, because it sounds like you've had a huge weight loss in the last few months that your body wasn't ready to lose.

Since it's only been one month, however, take a pregnancy test to be sure you're not pregnant (if there's a chance that you could be). I wouldn't be too concerned until you skip two periods in a row.
see a doctor
You might want to try getting a vitamin specifically for vegetarians. I take one and it has made me feel a lot healthier in general. You also might want to check out studies on how soy products can effect your cycles. You can just go to your favorite search engine and see what comes up. It's pretty scary. I was having a lot of female problems and I quit eating soy after I read the studies that were coming out and everything seems to have regulated itself.
