Yeast infection?

Question:
I was in the Caribbean and got what I thought was a yeast infection. I've had them in the past before, treated them and they went away.
Well on Monday I took Monistat 1 (a one-time treatment) and it was awful. The itching became even worse. It eventually faded. The next day, my doctor prescribed me some Diflucan (a one-time treatment pill). This was Tuesday. And the itching hasn't subsided. What is going on? THe discharge went from cottage-cheese white to yellow. Granted, the discharge has lessened immensely but I am super worried. Have been in a monogamous relationship for years now. I doubt it's an STD. Do you think this could be vaginitis? I am so tired of my itching crotch! LOL Advice?

Answers:
Most yeast infections come again after if you dont clear it up properly so it might be that
Go to doctor. He will give you antibiotics for your fanny-rash
You can use this method at home. Apply yogurt to directly to your vagina. Take yogurt everyday will help you avoiding this infection. You can check the benefits of yogurt in the internet.
its thrush, i get it very often, get the canestan cream and the pessary, it should disappear in a few days
Vaginitis is a nasty little problem that almost all women experience at some time or another. And Yeast Infections are very common.

However, there are some lesser known infections that women tend to get from time-to-time that need to be addressed. (Gynos are always so quick to say "yeast infection"...)

I would, if I were you, go to your local pharmacy or Wal-Mart, CVS, Target, Walgreen's, whatever store closest to you, and buy one of those kits that tests your vaginal Ph for culprits. I'm not sure of who makes them- either Monistat or Vagisil... but they look like pregnancy tests, and will tell you if you have a yeast infection- or something more. Then, you can take the results to your doc and ask him to do a culture test and Pap smear/cervical exam.

I don't suppose that you are pregnant- if so, this would be totally normal for you...

Hope this all helps!

*Edit: please don't put yougurt in your vagina... this is a very common "old wives tale" that can actually make things worse and make diagnosing your problem all the more difficult.
yes go with mako use natural yoghurt for it aply to ur itchy area and use until cleared up u will see a difference i use it all the time when ever i get thrush never have to go to the doctors again good luck.
