Does anyone else suffer from anxiety?

Question:
I hae been suffering from anxiety attacks for almost 4 days now and it's driving me crazy!
Me and my fiancee rarely have sex due to my anxiety. Well, this past Friday, we had sex in celebration of my new job and birthday. (Sounds dumb, I know). The reason we don't have sex often is because I worry myself sick over the thought of pregnancy. I take birth control. We've always used a condom and yet I still worry!
I was off the pill this time waiting for my period and we used a condom. My period started the next day, just like planned.
Why is it that I worry about this? Has any other women suffered from this? How did you deal with it?

Answers:
I have an anxiety disorder and I know exactly how you feel. I don't have anxiety regarding sexual situations but I have anxiety in many situations that people would find crazy. It's good that you recognize that your thoughts aren't realistic, that's the first step. I know how it feels to think you're crazy and to realize that the anxiety you have isn't realistic but you still can't help feeling that way. I went to the doctors and they prescribed me an anti-depressent that's helped a lot. Anxiety is a normal thing for people to feel, but when it interferes with your life and ability to function is when it becomes a problem. Is this the only area in which you have anxiety in your life? If so, it sounds like you just maybe need to talk to a couselor and learn some coping skills but if you have this kind of anxiety in other areas, talk to your doctor about maybe starting a low dose of a prescription. It doesn't sound too severe so you most likely wouldn't need too strong of a dose to ease your anxiety. Also, it's always a perfectly fine option to stop having sex if it makes you feel so anxious and uncomfortable.
I have an anxiety disorder too. I worry about everything, is the person behind me driving going to stop at this light or hit me. I freak out when I leave the house because I think I left something plugged in and I am deathly scared of my house catching on fire. Eventually, I had to go get some help. I went to my doctor and they gave me pills to take when I am having an anxiety attack. They work pretty good. I really recommend you go see your doctor. Explain to them what your issues are and they can give you something to help.
If you really that worried about pregnacy, them maybe you should stop having sex. I know that sounds mean, but really, if you are on the pill, you should be just fine. Do not stress out over it. Plus it will just cause you and your boyfriend to have more problems because you are stressing out all the time. Trust me I know, I have been there, done that. Just relax, take a deep breath and relax.
My boyfriend worries about pregnancy even though i'm on birth control. Anxiety can be brought on by some small worry and lead you to get very worked up about things. As long as you take the pill the same time every day, you have a 99% chance on no baby, plus, condoms are also 90-some% effective so use both if you're that worried. As long as you dont have sex while taking your placebo pill or when you're having your period, you're safe.

I too have anxiety, but that one thing on the list that I know for sure I dont have to worry about.
