I have been taking the anti depressant drug, Paxil?

Question:
I have taken it for a while then stopped while I was pregnant and Breastfeeding. I am now back on the Paxil at 8 weeks postpartum and it is making me have side effects that I never had before such as no sexual desire and I cannot have an orgasm. This really bothers me and my husband. Is there any other anti depressant or SSRI's that don't cause these symptoms? I am looking for personal experiences with people who have actually taken an SSRI for depression. I plan on going to the doctor to change my medicine after I do some research and get opinions from real people on which drug works best. thanks

Answers:
When I was first diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and depression, my doctor prescribed me paxil. It was difficult for me to have an orgasm and it dehydrated me so (pardon the graphic expression) it was difficult for me to get wet and stay wet. It also gave me problems urinating. I'd always feel like I had to go but then when I went, I never felt satisfied. It was like there was still more in there that wouldn't come out. The doctor and I decided that the side effects weren't worth what little help the medicine was doing for me and I switched to Effexor which has worked wonderfully for me. I've had hardly any side effects and the few that I did have faded with time. Everyone tolorates medicines differently and it could be due to your pregnancy and the changes in your body that it doesn't tolorate Paxil as well. Talking to your doctor is perfectly reasonable and if the side effects your having aren't worth the help it's doing you, you should try something different.
Wellbutrin.
Paxil can and will sometimes do that. Its best to go to the doctors and get on another anti depresson
