I went on depo after my period ..am i in danger?

Question:
There was a big mix up with the nurse and such and it left me with a date after my period had finished. I needed badly to go on it. I used to be on the pill but that gave me every side afect under the sun. I am now afraid i have done a very bad thing.. will i be protected?.. and has anyone else done this?..very worried.

Answers:
They told me to wait until the day after my period to get it. You are protected as soon as it gets into your system. It is fast acting. It will be just fine. They do this so that they are almost positive that you are not pregnant and did not get a false negative on your test. Thats all. Nothing at all to worry about.
As soon as the depo gets into your blood stream you WILL be protected so don't worry.
They only do this to make sure you are not pregnant you will be fine and you will be protected as soon as it is in your system
You will be protected at the usual 99% effectiveness, but if you are worried use another form of non hormonal birth control like a condom.

IMO depo provera is very bad for a woman's body.

Google "depo provera lawsuit" or check out the reviews at http://www.rateitall.com and you'll see just how many women have had serious side affects to this.

There are MANY different pills out there to try, I would talk to your doctor about getting off of depo and on some other form of contraceptive.
