Swimming? With Tampons?

Question:
Ok. On the 8th I am going to cyprus with with my family but I am due on my period. I am thinking as I am going swimming that I will have to use Tampons.

My cycle has been really irregular so the day I start is your guess aswell as mine. Can I put one in while I am not on?

As I have never used them before I am quite confident that they will do there job.

But. to I have anything to worry about? I have heard they leak sometimes. Also I have an insane idea that the tampon will get wet while i am swimming...

Can someone please help me so I can have a care free time on Holiday? Thankyou! xxx

Tampons were designed so women could go swimming.
Don't wear a tampon if you don't have a period. Doing so will increase the chance of getting TSS. (Don't worry about it comming while you are swimming, it will be very light at the beginning).

Tampons will leak once they have gone past the absorption point. A tampon won't get wet when you are swimming. it's INSIDE your body. (unlike a pad which will swell up like a diaper when wet)
if you have never used them before, then i suggest you practice inserting them correctly now and yes they do get wet and they expand when wet
that is dirty girl.
Tampons are fine, and they will be fine to use while you're swimming! As soon as you have some light spotting, go ahead and put one in, just be sure, of course, you change it every 6 hours. You'll be fine! Have fun on your trip!
don't swim with them in they will swell up and you wont be able to get them out, good luck...
I would not put a tampon in if you have not started yet. You may want to start with the smaller tampons if you have never used them before.

You will be fine. Have a great vacation. I am so jealous.
NO don't put one in if you aren't on your period. You'll have a heck of a time getting it out dry and some of it will stick inside you! You won't have to worry while you are in the pool, but will want to check it after about an hour if you are bleeding heavy. You can go longer if the bleeding is lighter. Just wipe and see if there is anything. It will do it's job and be fine!
I'm 35 and have been swimming MANY times while on my cycle and used tampons. You will be fine. Yes, you can put one in even if you aren't on your cycle yet, but don't leave it in for more than a couple hours at a time. Good luck and hope you have fun!!
Its okay to put on the tampon in order to swim but what ever you do, do not put it in before you period!! This can really increase you risk of getting TSS (toxic shock syndrome) it is real and it has happened with tampons.
You aren't supposed to use tampons while you are not on your period. I'm almost positive that it says that on the package.

Just take some with you in case. There are different absorbencys, which will prevent any leakage. As long as you follow the directions on the box and change them when you are supposed to, they won't leak. The water won't cause any problems with the tampon because that is what they are made for. Actually, while in the water for longer periods of time, your period will stop for a little while due to the water pressure, so hopefully that will alleviate some of your worries. It will start again once you are out of the water.
Don't use a tampon unless you're bleeding. You'll increase the risk of TSS if you don't have your period plus it hurts to take out a dry tampon. If you are confident and relaxed you should have no problems inserting a tampon so you don't need to practice before hand. Just make sure to bring a few into the bathroom with you in case you screw up the first time.
Only the tampon string will get wet while swimming because it's outside your body, the water will not go up into your vagina and soak the tampon.
Good luck and have fun.
Tampons are really the only way you can go swimming while on your period, they shouldnt get wet because they are inside you but the string will. No you should never use one if your period hasnt started and always use the tampon with 'the minimum absorbency required to meet your needs' (these are to reduce the risk of TSS) The only reason that they leak is if they're not in properly so if you're new to them use ones with an applicator, if it feels uncomfortable then its not in right
use water diapers
Read the instructions
really you should know you can put most any thing in there
but it is not safe
as for getting wet . . I don't know
But I doubt it
why didn't you ask your mother or etc
My advice is buy the kind with applicators for your first time. It'll be easier getting them in. Then change them often (I would say every 4 hours during the first day or two of your cycle) and they won't leak. They will NOT get wet while you are swimming (except for the cord part that hangs outside your body). You will be fine.
Yes, tampons will be fine underwater, but I wouldn't recommend putting them in when you're not bleeding.

However, if you are more comfortable with yourself, try using menstrual cups. You can leave them in for 12 hours. That way, you can put one in on the day you expect your period and not have to worry about tampons.

You should not use a tampon if you are not menstruating.

Bring some with you and check every now and then.

Your tampon will only leak if it is not inserted correctly or it is soaked with your menstrual flow (wrong absorbency).
Tampons can SWIM??!! Most people prefer swimming with dolphins.
i wouldn't put a tampon in till i started. you most likely will not get your period when actually in the water, so go to the restroom after swimming and as soon as you see a little bit of pink then put in a tampon. yes it wil get wet. that why you need to change it slightly more often then you normally Would so that it won't leak. other wise your good to go. have fun on holiday.
oh maybe not very good idea! they get wet and drop out, could be very embarrasing!
If you use a tampon when you're not on your period, it will do no harm but will hurt to take out. So wait until you actually get your period before you use one?
And no, the tampon is up much too far to get wet, so you'll be fine :)
Hope this helps
you should never put in a tampon if you are not on yet as you can get toxic shock syndrome and you can get it even when you are on but more if you are not
