Please help, UTI problem?

Question:
My younger sister, I honestly believe has a urinary tract infection (I have a had one before and she has an array of symptoms that suggest it). She is 17 years old. Currently, neither of my two younger sisters have any health insurance because my mother deemed that she didn't want to add them to her plan in order to save all her money.

Anyhow, I am not in a position at this point where I can pay for her probable hospital bill but I know how severe a UTI can become if left untreated. It has been nearly a month and my mother also has cut off any aid to help her because she thinks that she is lying about the pain, blood, nausea...etc. Are there any other options/routes I can pursue to help her? I bought her some "ultra-concentrated" cranberry vitamins (you know, like AZO) and Urinary pain relief tablets to help out a bit. I also extended to her the possibility to waiting a week when she leaves for college and go to the Health Centre there. But her suffering has been over a month.

Answers:
This is very dangerous. She can damage her kidneys if this is left untreated. She needs to go to the nearest Planned Parenthood or ER and get treatment. At 17 years old your mother can be turned in to Child Protection agency for not providing medical care to her. Get her to a hospital ASAP and worry about the bill later. There are payment options she can use and sometimes they will write off the bill if the person is unable to pay. Get treatment first. Explain your situation later. An ER can not refuse to treat you just because you have no insurance. Good luck and I hope she gets better! Shame on your mother!
Wow, thats silly. She REALLY should go to a doctor, and i think your sister is more important than money, unless you dont have it.
She needs to go to a doc or hospital ASAP It sounds like it has already spread to her kidneys and or blood stream. Get off the COMPUTER and get her to a doctor right away. IF you are at work tell your boss you have a family emergency but GET OFF THE COMPUTER NOW AND TAKE HER TO THE DOCTOR.
You just need to go to a hospital... worry abou the bill later... just take her yourself, don't tell your mom, she really needs to go
she could also go to the emerency at the hospital tell the nurse what she has,the nurse might still have to test the urine but the only thing they do is give you a prescription for antibiotics. You could ask for the cheapest kind. They are like $25 maybe less.
Take your sister to the doctor's ASAP.

Report your mother to social services for child neglect. Cutting her kids off of insurance to save money is not only stupid, but child abuse. Letting a child suffer in pain with a medical problem is child abuse.
whether your mom likes it or not she is responsible for the health and well being of your sister.take her to the emergency room and have them bill your mother...only problem i can see is they may not treat her without parental consent...if nothing else she could go to your local planned parenthood so they can run a urine test and get her on some meds...it could also be an sti, some have the same symptoms as a uti..please take her somewhere she needs medical attention.
