Why does my blood pressure spike when I'm about to get my period?

Question:
Im 25 and i take a dieturitic pill (prescribed by the doc) for HBP, and I notice lately with any little bit of stress by blood pressure spikes. I also notice that my blood pressure seems to spike the day before and during my period. Could there be a reason for this?

Answers:
Yes, it's possible the medication could be causing this. I would recommend checking with the pharmacist as well to see what they say.

Also, the spike could be related to the rise in hormones that are occurring because of the period being on the way. I would recommend getting in touch with your doctor as well to see what they think.
