Any help on Thyroid problems . . .??

Question:
I don't know if anyone can help me with this...

My mother is in her forties, and is a bit overweight, although she eats like a mouse, because of her Hashimoto's Hypo-Thyroid disease. . . it's attacking her metabolism, she's been like this for quite a while.

Among other problems, such as the fatigue caused by the thyroid thing, she's also had lower back surgery, so she can't do any strenuous exercising.

Does anyone have any ideas on how she can get healthy again?

I hate seeing her like this... she's so unhappy.
She is a beautiful person, inside and out, but she gets depressed, because she keeps outgrowing her clothes... and we don't have much money, so it's not like we can just keep buying new clothes..

please help.

( by the way... yes, she is taking a lot of thyroid medications, daily... more than one... )

Answers:
It could be that her medications may need to be readjusted. I would definitely recommend that she talk to her thyroid specialist.

There's also an excellent newsletter about thyroid issues that may be of some additional help. The link is: http://thyroid.about.com
