It's a little uncomfortable.
It should NOT hurt if he/she is gentle.
no it doesnt hurt it just may be a little uncomfortable feeling but its over with in no time. he just going to take like a cotton swab. if i were i wouldnt stress it at all.
It is uncomfortable but it isn't painful. You really need to have this done. According to most guidelines you are 7 years over due.
Since it's your first time and you're a virgin, it may hurt a little more than usual. Normally, it doesn't hurt, it's just uncomfortable after you've had it done a few times.
I'm sure that your doctor knows, but make sure to tell them that you've never had one before and you've never had sex. This way they'll know to be extra gentle.
Your doctor should explain everything he/she is going to do, before doing it. They'll take the speculum [which kind of looks like a duck's bill.. haha] and insert it into your vagina. He/she will take a look and then take a sample from inside. It feels mostly like a scraping inside. It's a bit uncomfortable. They'll take the speculum out and insert two fingers into your vagina to make sure that everything feels normal. Then that's it! It doesn't take long at all, and it's pretty painless, just a bit uncomfortable.
You'll do fine. Good luck!
First of all you don't need a papsmear if you are still a virgin so don't do it but
its a simple procedure that won't be painfull. The doctor will put an instrument called speculum in your vagina to visualize the cervix and then just sweep a wooden spatula over your cervix.
Don't worry
i think the worst part is the embarrasment, but it is really dangerous not to have your regular pap smears. i would tell him or her that i had never been sexually active and see if that makes a difference in the pain level, because they don't hurt me but just a tiny bit. it really helps if you can stay relaxed!
Nobody likes a pap test but there are some things that could help you out. Depending on your insurance you can have the Dr. give you something to calm you down an hour before the test. (that's what I do) You could have the Dr. talk to you and answer all of your questions, they give special patients a longer time to get to know them and feel more comfortable with them. The test doesn't really hurt, its more uncomfortable than anything else.
I don't think you need to have one done, if you're a virgin.
Pap tests are extremely important! They can detect problems you would not discover any other way! It may be uncomfortable but your doctor will do their best to put you at ease and also awnser any questions you may have. Be honest with the doctor, let the know it's your first pap smear. The experience is not nearly as scary as you might think and it does not hurt. The worst part is feeling uncomfortable and exposed. Just remember that the doctor is a professional, they see and do this every day.
It's a bit uncomfortable, but doesn't hurt at all. I am 21 and just recently had my first pap test. I was scared to get it done, but it went much better than I thought.
