Girls only...?

Question:
ok so i got my period and its a a little heavy (flow). I use always pads but they end up being sort of crunpled and it goes on my panties. I hate that and the feeling is nasty. How can i stop this. Sometimes i think ill need a diaper lol. I couldnt sleep at all last night because of my horrible cramp, every five ten seconds it would hurt like hell. I tried advil but that doesnt work anymore. Besides taking a hot bath what can i do.

Hi there. To cure your cramp problem, you should try putting a heating pad on your stomach and lay down flat on the couch, with one leg propped over the back of it. It works wonders for me and I have a really heavy flow and sickening cramps. As for the heavy flow problem, you should try using tampons. They slide right in without any pain, and there are different sizes for different flows. The good thing about them is you can move into any position without feeling a thing and you can even go swimming. Just change them every couple hours. If you are really heavy, just stick a panty liner on underneath the tampon and you don't have to worry about a mess!
take a nap.
also, instead of pads maybe its time to use tampons
also, exercising and eating healthy helps alot
good luck
I understand..You have to change your pads constantly, don't hold it.
take pamprin or midol.and you "might" want to consider using tampons. If they are not for you then try gettting the pads that say Overnight or something along those lines or "Long" that way it will not get all over you. HOpe i could help.
Maby you should get the extra long ones, I use those because the same thing happens to me. I have no idea how to help you with cramps, sorry.
Try laying down with a heating pad where you're cramping. That always helps me. Also, try extra strength tylonol instead of advil. it has different ingredients, like acetimiacin...(however its spelled) so you may have better luck with it. Hope that helps
hi, sorry to hear of your litte prob dont worry you just prob need the right pads, longer ones maybe and definatly with wings. the always night time ones are good. its just trial and error though. so hope that helps
change the pad often, use one with wings that is especially for night time. those are usually longer and a little thicker. I have a heavy period every month and thats what i do. I started using tampons too, it keeps the mess from happening and if u change it every time u go to the bathroom (every few hours or so) u wont have any other problems either. im reallly heavy so sometimes super absorbency tampons are the only option if i want to be worry free about staining my clothes. For the cramps, seriously u gotta wait em out, u can use medicine, pamprin, midol whatever but really the pains only gonna last like a few hours and then it'll be over and done with. i try to take a nap and sleep it off if i can. drink some hot tea and relax. its those muscles that need to settle in order for the pain to go away. g'luck!
Hi! OK...for me believe it or not, taking a bath during my period actually makes my cramps worse, so I would avoid that if I were you.
Pain medications will only do so much. Sometimes being active will help both with cramps and with the flow. If you eat right and exercise regularly, it will help with your cycle.
Lastly, for the "diaper" situation...I would recommend using tampons. If you've never used them, it can be very scary, but once you get the hang of it, they are worlds better than pads. If your flow is super heavy, I recommend Playtex Super Plus, then put a thin pantyliner on as a backup. If you're new to tampons, start out with the really thin ones though until you get used to them. I never thought I would use tampons, but once I finally tried them, I love them! I don' t know if I could ever go back to pads!
Good luck!
Why not switch to a tampon or use a pad with wings. Also if the flow is heavy you need to use a higher absorbency pad. As for cramps you can use a prescription dose of ibuprofen or naproxen. If you are not sure how much that is ask your mom to tell you so you know how many tablets to take. Also try exercising for cramps and using a heating pad or hot water bottle.
Have you ever tried tampons? I myself hate pads and wear tampons with pantyliners during the day, but only problem there is it may make your cramps worse. I've found the best pads are the ultra thin with wings - they don't feel like a diaper, don't get all up in your business, and the wings keep them in place. They are just as good at absorbing as the regular ones. Now, if you're soaking a normal pad within 1 hour for 2 hours (2 pads), you may want to see a gyno because that's an abnormally heavy flow.

For pain, there really isn't any medicine that works (for me anyway). Hot baths are good, heating pads, hot water bottles, etc. Also you may want to try some hot patches (the adhesive kind that stick right to your skin). Try avoiding strenuous activity, and get some rest. Hope this helps.
Try the products like Pamprin. They made me drowsy but helped for general comfort. What I also did for the heavy flow days, especially at night, was to put two pads together and overlap them in the middle. The heavy flow is only for a day or two. I have friends who swear by tampons but I don't like the feeling of them. If it continues to be a problem I'd talk to a doctor about going on a birth control pill. They help to make flow less heavy and can shorten the duration of it from 6-7 days to more like 5. This is a fairly common use of the pill so don't feel self conscious about asking. You can also try taking Tylenol instead of advil or taking advil first and then follow up with Tylenol 2-3 hours later if they both kind of help but not completely. This is what I did after giving birth and had the cramps from my uterus shrinking back. Good luck.
try a heating pad to help the cramps and also if you dont want it to get on your underwear than use pads with wings or long ones. or use tampons
Have you told this to your OB-GYN? I use to get such bad cramps no pills helped. I went through this for years before I finally got help. I found out I had Endometriosis. Can be very painful. I was put on a low dose birth control pill and it helped. I did not know what was normal for cramps until I went into labor with my first child. I'll tell you my cramps every month felt like I was five centimeters dilated, that is not normal. The good news is they are no longer as bad.
take a nap.
also, instead of pads maybe its time to use tampons
also, exercising and eating healthy helps a lot. Use tampons I would.
If you neeed to change your pad every 1-2 hours because it is soaked it is time to see a doctor. But if it is just really uncomfortable then try using tampons. as for the cramps try ibueprfen and birth control (it helps stop your period all together)
