Depression?
Question:
Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I don't have the time to go see a doctor. I can't talk to anyone about it. It was something I could deal with before, but in the coming weeks I feel new circumstances will cause my symptoms to worsen and my spells to occur more often. Since, during these spells, I sometimes contemplate suicide, and I'd hate to do anything rash. Anyway I'd really appreciate any help anyone can offer!
Answers:
Depression can be life-threatening if you don't see a doctor. Whatever it is that you do, MAKE time to go and see one. In the meantime, there are over-the-counter things that you can take in the local drugstores. Exercising and changing the things that you eat can also help. Are you sleeping well? That can also be a factor.
Have you prayed?
You really should see your gyn and tell them about all of this. It could be partly hormonal. It might be wise to see a psych; if you
don't make the time now, it'll only get worse.
Good luck!
your suspicions about hormone imbalance is a real possibility, however you say you have no time to go to doctor which is irrational, you are putting your self at risk not to mention the unnecessary suffering this condition can cause, you should see a gyno about your irregularities your body is telling you something is wrong, why will you not listen, but if you are bound and determined to treat yourself (by the way your not qualified to do that) you may find some relief with a combination of St. John's Wort and Black Cohosh, but my advice is to get into the doc's office asap!
It sounds like you could be suffering from both anxiety and depression. I know it sounds strange, but I've been told by professionals that the two usually go hand-in-hand. I've been suffering from anxiety for about nine years and eventually became depressed as a result of no solution or cure for it. You MUST take the time to see a doctor. I've been taking medication for both of these disorders and it's worked wonders for me, but not an absolute cure. The medication I've been taking is Zoloft (there are many more out there though), however you don't want to indefinitely take medication. You definitely would want to try therapy as well. It helps tremendously. There are many resources on the net (support groups, bulletins, etc.). You should really look into some of these as well. It's so reassuring to know that you're not the only on in the world suffering.
Also, I should add that therapy isn't in everyone's budget, however there are some practices that offer services on a sliding scale (based on your income). Look into this as well. It would be well worth the search.
See your physician first and then go from there.
PS ~ I was prescribed Xanax for my panic (only as needed) and it definitely helped me cope.
Good luck to you.
It is completely reasonable to think that a hormonal imbalance could be related to the symptoms you describe, however it saddens me to hear someone say that they don't have time to see a doctor. First off if you want to change something you have to be willing to take the necessary steps. Seeing a doctor is the first step. You need to make sure you rule out anything physical such as a hormonal imbalance. If this truly is causing your problems the doctor can prescribe medications which will help bring your body back into a good balance. It might just be something as simple as a birth control pill. Trying to fix something yourself might not always be possible. Please don't allow the stress of this life make you think there arent solutions or ways in which to cope. Make the time to do something about this.
