Inguinal Hernia and pain question?

Question:
When I was pregnant with my oldest son (now 2.5 years old) I developed a hernia right over my pubic bone. It was really large, probably stuck out about 1/2 inch or so. After pregnancy, it went away. Then during my pregnancy with my 2nd son (now 10 months), it came back with a vengance! It stuck off my skin a good inch and was at least that in diameter. It was so painful, not only on top, but it felt like his head was going to pop out of my pubic bone down through my labia. It still feels like that. It is so painful and throbs. The only thing that relieves it is heat and putting my feet up.

Is surgery my only option? Anyone with experience?

Answers:
Unfortunately, surgery at this point seems to be the only viable option, especially if you plan on having any more children (which I advise against).

What hernias are is rips in the muscular wall. This is why there is protrusion. Now, if you were to have hiatal hernia, the sphincter muscle between the esophagus and the stomach relaxes too much and the stomach contents slip through.

It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. Good luck.
