Tampons...?

Question:
Ok so i have a heavy flow and i am thinking about using tampons. my sister says they are bad for you but i dont believe that. I dont like a messy stain on my panties so i want tampons. For girls with experiance, is this bad for you, does it help, and whats the best brand and size for a heavy flow.

Answers:
Tampons are NOT bad for you. As long as you follow the directions and don't leave them in longer than 6-8 hours it is very unlikely that you would get TSS. You don't need to ask a doctor if you should use them. Millions of women have been using them for years. if you are comfortable with the idea, then you can use them.

Tampons should help prevent the stains. If you have a heavy flow you should use higher absorbancy tampons (i.e. super), however in the beginning it would be best for you to try to use a slender or teen model so that it is easier to insert (I don't know if they make super absorbancies in these). You can always use a regular absorbancy and a pantiliner to prevent and stains from leaks.

Tampax Pearl are usually good beginner tampons. Whatever brand you chose, I'd suggest getting ones with a plastic applicator.
i may self think you shouldnt use them.I think they can hold back blood clots. However you should seek doctors advice on the matter.
tampons are okay and are fine you should do some researchon what brand is right for you.
They are not bad for you. Millions of women use them. The only thing is there could be complications from leaving them in too long (longer than 8 hours) or using too high an absorbency (they shouldn't be mostly white when you remove them. Tampons can be VERY tricky at first, but they are SO SO SO much better than pads. You will forget you even have your period!
I have a heavy flow, so I use super-super plus tampons, but since you haven't used them before you should definately use regular size.
Tampons can lead to Toxic Shock Syndrome, it's a rare disease that comes from tampons, but it usually occurs from leaving the tampon in for way too long, just remember to take it out every couple of hours!
nope there not bad at all! i just went for an anual physical and asked the doctor if they were safe and she said yes they are perfectly safe!! :) i would try tampax pearl... buy the multipack... it comes w/ super, reg, and lites! experiment around w/ which absorbecny works for u! pearls protection is great i have never had a leak! they are alittle pricy but worth it!! and purse durable!! good luck!
ok im a teen but ive been using them for 2 years they are not bad for you you just cant leave them in for more than 6-8 hours because of a thing call toxic shock syndrome (TSS)
