Can very light menstrual cycles ever become problematic? Disclaimer: This is kind of a graphic question?
Question:
Anyway, I currently am on seasonale which is the birth control that gives you a period 4 times a year. What I have noticed with this is that my period is either really light, or really heavy and it seems to go back and forth. Now, I think heavy for me, is probably average, but I definatly have seen the change.
I think I have this perception that because I am not bleeding much, the blood builds up in my body and then when it decides to clean itself, I experience these heavy cycles. Is that what is happening and if so is that unhealthy?
Answers:
This is normal.. Over the period lifetime, it changes sometimes often or never. Every woman is different
The only thing I would be concerned with is endometriosis, or the thickening of your uterine wall. If your body is not shedding this every month, it can become very thick. This will lead to problems when you do try to conceive because the baby will not be able to attach itself to the uterine wall.
i have the same problem and recently found out i have pcos...so you may want to look at these symtoms and see if you have pcos or endometriosis
