Is it possible to physically not be able to insert a tampon?
Question:
This is TMI.but I am able to stick my finger up there without pain, so I don't know. Something about the hard cotton really hurts badly.
Any suggestions? It is becoming really embarrassing to continue using pads.
Answers:
Unless your vagina is closed shut and has no opening it isn't IMPOSSIBLE to insert a tampon! You can do it! Try using a lubricant like KY or Astroglide to wet and soften the tampon up a little bit and definitely ask a female in your house (if available) or friend for any advice too. NEVER use a lotion or baby oil, which can cause infection, make sure it is specifically for vaginal use. Make sure you are pushing the tampon in at a correct angle, which is usually kind of up and towards your back. Try pushing it in the same you have fit your finger in. I know this sounds weird to people reading but I am serious. I am not sure if you have utilized the instruction booklet in the box or not, but the diagram and text are correct and dead on. If that doesn't help you will need to ask a gynecologist(you should have a pap smear starting at age 18) or your family practice physician! Good luck!
Ask a docter.
You may have a piece of skin or something in the way, some abnormality that would make that painful. If that's the case, you should definitely get yourself checked out by a gynecologist. They can tell you what the problem is and provide the right kind of assistance with that.
perhaps you were born male and your parents did not tell you. or maybe you are using the wrong hole. have sex with someone to loosen it up. cheers!
uhh i say check with your gyno...this seems to be a job for him/her.
then check back with me please..
you may want to try the plastic applicator ones, and then use a small amount of Ky lubricant. However you may need to see your gyne and discuss this, make sure there is no cyst or something of that nature.
I dont think there is anything inparticular wrong, I was amost 19 before I could ever use a tampon, and had mine since I was 14 If you can get them in, but have the pain, you might want to contact a GYN, or maybe ask your mom? You could also try to tampons made for very slim people- I had to start out with those. They come in very comfortable plastic cores so they are comfy to insert. And they are a lot smaller than other brands.
