Birth control giving me head aches??
Question:
anyhoo, Ive been getting major headaches for the past hmmm.. year or so! Some are HORRIBLE and some are barable and then sometimes im flat out sick as a dog!
A friend told me to question my birth control.
So, maybe its time to up the dose to the next hormone level? Ive been on Ortho Low for about 3 years now and ive started having headaches within the last year. They started out not very often, so we related them to stress. Typically i got them on weekends, but not it has turned into an every day thing!
I really need to find out why im having these headaches, Its so hard to function when i have sledge hammers hitting my brain 24/7!
I also get nausous every evening if i dont have food right away!! I have to eat dinner by 6 or im sick, shaking, weak, and feel like im about to throw up.
Could anybody possibly share with me some info, personal experience, etc! thanks!

u need to be put on the pill that has the LOWEST amount of estrogen!!!!
birth control in any form is horrible for your body. ESPECIALLY THE SHOT!! DO NOT TAKE THE SHOT! i did for 6 years and it messed me up completely. ive been off for almost 2 years and still have been unable to concieve. also the first yr i was off the shot i was extremely sick with nausea and vomiting atleast 3 times a week in the mornings just like morning sickness. it also thinned my bones and im only 26 yrs old and have osteoporosis. there are sooo many chemicals and god knows whatelse in birth control. its not natural. my suggestion is to use condoms with ur partner so you dont have any health side effects... which u will get on any birth control.
I had the same problem! I was on Loestrin for years & years, but I finally went off in June because of constant migraines. Since I've been off I only experience headaches when I'm low on caffeine:)
It all depends on your body whether you need a lower or higher dose of estrogen..the best idea would be to talk it over with your Gyno..Good luck!
My mom and I are both very sensative to birth control. Mom will have to switch every 3-4 years due to symptoms like yours. I was unable to use anything but Yaxmine, and I loved it. but due to other issues I have switched to Seasonal, and bring on the headaches!
I say that it is worth looking into your birth control, but only after you are sure that you are not sick or allergic to something else! Hope you are feeling better soon.
