That depends on each individual person, i was 11 and my girlfriend didn't get hers until she was 17!

My sister didn't get hers until she was sixteen and shes totally normal. All girls develop at a different rates. Periods are a pain in the butt anyway- try to enjoy the fact that you don't have to worry about it now, it'll come soon enough.
I was 11, but be sooo thankful that you havent had yours yet! Not fun 1 bit. I was kinda early but most of my friends were 12-13. Don't anticipate it cuz once you get it your gonna hate it. I get moody before my periods, dangerously moody. I also get tired. But drink lots of water because I'm guessing you'll be comin round soon. Goodluck!
most people i know got theirs somewhere around 7th, 8th grade. some signs that it may start soon: cramps, a brownish color on your underwear.
but be happy you don't have it, it sucks! trust me: it's a bloody nuisance (no pun intended)! there's no need to worry, all girls get it at different times. one of my friends didn't get it until she was 16!

YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR PERIOD! It is like hell. I got mine probably a year and a half ago. It's not fun at all. If I were you, I would be grateful! But, menstrual cycles can be genetic. Maybe your grandmother started later, so you will too. Don't worry, it will come.
When your body and hormones are ready, won't be exactly when your mom's was. The usual age is 12 or 13 but can be yrs later. Check under menstruation in yahoo search, it explains it all.
Don't rush it. It'll come when you're body's ready and like others have said, you'll wish it stayed away longer once you have it.
no matter what anyone else says, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU! Your body is probably developing at a slower pace because you have low body fat and its no big deal. When i talk to my doctor, she said if your 16 and still havent gotten it, they will put you on the birth control pill to help stimulate your body. ITS NOT A BIG DEAL. If i were you id carry around a small pad in a purse just incase.
