What are the best kind of non-latex condoms.. ? i am allergic to latex.?
Question:
Answers:
There are two types:
1. Skins - these are made from the intestines of sheep. They naturally have pores that are too big to block viruses like HIV, so you can not rely on them for protection from sexually transmitted diseases. They are also very expensive.
2. Polyurethane. In the US, I know of only two brands of polyurethane condoms. They are Trojan Supra and Durex Avanti. These are both good condoms, but they have not been tested as extensively as latex condoms, so they are only recommended for people (like you) who are allergic to latex.
My truelove is sensitive to latex, so we have used these. They feel a little better than latex condoms because they conduct heat better. They can be used with any kind of lube. (Latex is rotted out by oils or grease, so you can not use anything oil based or petroleum based with latex condoms. Not a problem with polyurethane condoms.) They are not as stretchy as latex condoms, so if the man's penis is particularly thick or thin, the condoms may not fit well.
I don't have a preference between the Trojan Supra or Durex Avanti - I just buy whichever is cheaper.
Polyurethane works well.
They would be a form of animal intestine. They say they are super sensitive, but it still gives me the creeps.
I think lamb skin is the way to go. Otherwise, I think there's another synthetic material out there.
polyurethane is good, feels kinda diffrent and they tend to break easier. and they are kinda expensive, but what other choice do you have, those sheep skin ones? those dont stop STD's
