Yeast Infection/Monistat 1?
Question:
So today I went early to CVS to grab Monistat 1 and used it. I have now experienced 10 times worse itching than with just my YI. It is unbearable. I have taken Monistat 3 in the past and it worked just find. But this... it a whole new monster. I bought it because I thoguht it'd be a quick fix. If anyone has usedt his before, please tell me how long it took for the excruciating itching to go away.
I went on a website dedicated to how bad the Monistat 1 is and now I feel so duped for spending the $ on it and for feeling the same way as all these other ladies. :(

I currently have a yeast infection too...and i think tampons and the hot humid weather is contributing to it for me...i have had YIs in the past too...i am currently using Monistat 3...and the new kind(it's the one that you insert with the egg looking capsules and it has the anti-itch cream)...im on my 2nd day with it and my symptoms seem to be improving...maybe you should try the 3 day again or 7 day for a longer period of time...a home remedy you can try is to put some plain(not vanilla just plain) yogurt on the irritated area and insert some inside you if you can...and i hope you feel better...and that both of us get rid of this mess
I use Wal-mart's off brand "Equate" stuff when I have yeast infections. Works better than most of the name brand stuff that I have tried and it's cheaper.
Sitting around in a wet bathing suit can cause a yeast infection. Unfortunately the one day treatments don't cure it in one day. They usually take about 7 days to work just like the longer treatments. Do you have the external cream? It might help with the itching. I usually find even with using the cream the itching is extreme for the first couple days.
i also got a yeast infection when i came back from the beach this summer. it is from sitting in a wet bathing suit.
i used a cheaper brand than monistat but it was the 1 day dose. i read on the package that even though you only use the medicine for one day it takes no less that 3 days for the infection to go away. i would give it a few days before you use more medicine.
