Question about tampons and yeast infections?

Question:
OK so i've been on penecillin for about a week now and it gave me a yeast infection. I used Monistat 1 about 5 or 6 days ago and it didn't clear up the infection completely. I was told it would be ok to use another Monistat 1 dose, which i did last night before bed. I'm also on my period and i was told not to use tampons so i wore pads through the night and today.

At this point the pad is becoming a big inconvenience and so i was wondering if it is ok to now start using tampons again, or is it still too soon after the application of the monistat? Thanks!

Answers:
Eat yogurt with whatever kind of bacteria comes in yogurt that is good for you..its supposed to help stave off yeast infections..so eat that daily, use the monistat, and even though its inconvienient..I would still avoid the tampon because basically the yeast infection is coming from inside to out..so you dont want anything that would (excuse this..) plug up where you want the medicine to go. I would use an extra strength Monistat or whatever Extra Strength you can get in a similiar medicine ..try that out..if it doesnt work, go see your OB/GYN immediately.
Good luck!!
You should call your doctor and find out.
