I just started my period, not your averag question. HELP!?
Question:
What's wrong...need advice..tell me what it is.
Answers:
Hey! I got my 1st period on Sunday too.
Congrats!
Anyways -
When you wear pads, blood tends to move up there. It's normal, don't worry.
AND...
The blood is brown because it's been in your body for a LONG time. Think about it, you've never had periods before and now your body is flushing old, un-oxygenated blood out of your body.
I'm in the same situation as you. I talked to my mom who delivers babies and is good with this stuff and this is what she said.
Don't worry and have a happy period.
it is normal! that happened to me the first time too!
no, it's not coming from your clit. Trust me. Your clit doesn't have any openings. It is just a nubbin of skin. Brown blood is normal, it is just old blood.
the blood is definitely coming from the right place, don't worry about that. it just moves around, that's all.
also, when you first get your period it's perfectly normal and common for it to be brown.
over the next few months and maybe up to a year you'll see it turn red. but it's totally normal, don't worry. it's still blood.
You're okay. It is not coming from your clitoris. It can seem that way, though. It is supposed to be brown at first. In about 6 months to a year, it will get more red. Nobody warned me that it would be brown, either. I thought I had pooped my pants and not known it. I was at school, too. Went to the nurse and everything. Called my mom. It was soooooo embarrassing!
If you're using pads, then the blood is simply moving up the folds of the labia and congealing (coagulating/drying) around the area of your clitoris. This is perfectly normal.
To avoid irritation however, I would recommend buying some personal wipes and cleansing the area every time you use the toilet.
When i started mine was brown...
Then the next time i had it, it was pure red.
Don't worry it's normal.. i think all girls worry about there periods! x
