I think i have a UTI and a yeast infection at the same time, is that possible???
Question:
And ive taken preg tests, (two last night, and one this morning and came up negative they were the dollar general brand.) So can a UTI and yeast infection effect the way the pregnancy tests read??
Answers:
Yes, it's possible and quite common to have both at the same time. No, the UTI wouldn't affect a pgcy test.
If you do feel that you have a UTI, make sure that you call your doctor. You need antibiotics to treat it. In the meantime, start drinking lots of water and/or cranberry juice to begin flushing out your system. For the YI, since you will be on antibiotics, you may want to ask about Diflucan, which will treat the YI rather quickly.
Good luck to you.
Who are the idiots who disagree with the answers given? The immaturity around here is astonishing.
Please do not ask the people here, they are not Doctors and will only be guessing
It could be anything??

If you're on antibiotics for the UTI, a yeast infection is definitely possible. The best bet for an accurate reading shouldn't be affected by either of those conditions. Buy a pregnancy test with a cup and dipstick. Use the first-of-the-morning urine, when the hormone is strongest, and you will get your most accurate reading. I would suggest, though, if you're not being treated for your UTI with antibiotics AND you have a yeast infection, you need to just combine all three problems and get to a gynecologist who can give you the definitive answer for all three problems.
Yes, it's possible to have both a UTI & yeast infection at the same time. Yes, either condition can make your period arrive late. Any illness in some women can alter their menstrual cycle (making it arrive early or late). I would go to the doctor. A yeast infection can be treated with OTC medicines (vaginal anitfungals), but a UTI is difinitively diagnosed with a urine anaylsis. If this comes back positive, then the usual treatment is antibiotics. You can also drink lots of fluids & cranberry juice to flush out, or prevent future UTI's. As far as possible pregnancy goes, your doctor can give you a better answer than dollar store tests. If you are pregnant, it's very early. However, there are pregnancy tests out there that can tell you if you are pregnant up to 5 days before you are due to have your period. I don't think that having a UTI/yeast infection can alter pregnancy test results. They are designed to only react to the hormone a woman's body makes only during pregnancy. Just to be safe, go to your doctor to get all of your concerns checked out. Good luck!
Yes you can have a UTI and a yeast infection at the same time but it will not affect the outcome of a pregnancy test.Sometimes the period can be late up to 5 days but does not mean your pregnant.
You should see your doctor if your period doesn't come within 5 days.(Remember you never said your age so if your a teenager its normal to miss periods for longer periods of time especially if your a very thin girl but if your uncomfortable with this see your doctor.)
