Ovarian Cyst...?

Hi, I have polycystic ovary syndrome. At one stage I had 32 cysts in my right ovary and 16 in my left. I was in a lot of pain. Very sharp burning pain when they became infected. The best solution was to go on the pill you mentioned and skip as many periods as possible. Everytime I had a period the cysts became more inflammed, skipping them gave them the chance to settle down. I had my appendix out last year and the doctor checked out my right ovary while I was under and it was clear of cysts. My doctors instructions have helped me alot and I have settled down the problem. It is genetic so it is not something you can get rid of but just learn to deal with. The danger is that if you allow them to become more and more irritated and they burst... then it can cause burning and scarring and possibly endometriosis. This can cause difficulties in getting pregnant down the track. However if you stick with the pill and skipping periods ( I have one for 5 days every four months), then you can manage the problem and should not have great difficulty with getting pregnant down the track. Good exercise and diet will help too because those tendant to get cysts are also tendant towards insulan resistance and eventual diebetes so just look after yourself. I hope this has been helpful.
It is a very good idea to go on BC if you have ovarian cysts. Those cyts can cause you to be infertile in the future if you do not go on BC. DO WHAT YOUR DOCTOR SAYS.
I have also had one and was put on birth control, it helps so much for pain and reduces them in size to where they go away and won't hurt anymore. It's worth it!

I had an ovarian cyst and they didnt know what it did until it burst. At least in my case, and i assume in yours, it can happen again anytime. I had mine three years ago. Its just alot of constant pain that you have to wait out. They can give you meds to reduce the pain though, that helped me alot. I was never told about the birth control though...i went on it AFTER that happened and recently went off after three years because i was told my body couldnt handle the estrogen...so now im curious...
