Is it possible for a 16 yr old to get a yeast infection?
Question:
I had a yeast infection the first time when I was 19 so I don't know if age makes a difference.
Answers:
I highly doubt that age matters in the cases of a yeast infection.
She could easily gotten it from wearing tight pants or douching or many others things.
I wouldn't worry...i think its normal.
Just make sure to visit a gyno to see if thats what it is. =]
I had yeast infections when I was 15 = Age doesn't matter.
A baby can get a yeast infection. It can come from foods, clothes, and medicine
i had one when i was 13 ._.
Anyone can get it anytime, so no, age doesn't matter.
Age doesn't matter at all.
I know a 12 year old that had a yeast infection.
You can get them from different things though, like too much moisture, or wearing non-breathing underwear.
Anyways, good luck!
Xoxo!
You can definitely have one at 16 - they are horrible!! It depends on the person and what they wear and if they swim - etc to whether they get one. The same is with bladder infections which are horrible too!! UGH the things women go through! lol
Taking her to the gyno is definitely the best thing to do! You sound like an awesome big sis! Hope she feels better soon.
can get it as a baby. yeast overgrowth is a biological thing, although lack of hygiene is often the cause of it in young kids
wait a week for a yeast infection?? ouchy ouchy ouchy .or itchy itchy itchy I should say.
I don't think age matters. Maybe some yogurt or a vinegar and water douche would help her until you get her to the doc. Otherwise, she'll be miserable.
You might also try some over-the-counter Gynelotrimin or Monistat or something like that.
I have been getting yeast infections since I was 15. Age does not matter. I wasn't sexually active until I turned 18. I hope this helps and good luck!!
Even babies can get yeast infections. It has nothing to do with how old you are, or whether you are sexually active.
no, age does not matter! i had one when i was 91/2. it is ok! you can get them at any age, as they occur from colthing, and sheets/bedding.
good luck!
Age doesn't have anything do with getting a yeast infection, your just more likely to get one when your sxually active. But it could be cause by a lot of different things.
Age doesn't matter. Yeast grows in an abundance of sugar and warmth and moist atmosphere. Also if you take any antibiotics they can kill the good bacteria in your system and the yeast can grow.
Have her eat some yogart or take some acidopholis pills from the health food store until her appointment. She should cut out any soda she drinks and where white cotton panties. It would be better not to wear blue jeans while she has this too. Loose fitting stuff would be better.
I think it is great that you are taking her to the doctor. She shouldn't be ashamed to talk to you or your mom about this. There is no relationship between a yeast infection and sex. She could have one from taking medicines. It is normal.
Good luck to her.
no age does not matter anyone can get an yeast infection
yes
Do you want a natural cure for yeast infections? Also, do you want to know why women these days get them so often?
Antibiotics kill bacteria in your body, including some especially good bacteria in your digestive system. Acidophilus and Bifidum kill yeast in your body to keep it at safe levels, they help digest your food also to reduce flatulence (farts). Our diets are also very high in sugar and simple carbs (white bread and white rice) that feed the yeast and make it grow at an above average rate. Once Acidophilus and Bifidum are killed by Antibiotics, the only way to get them back into your system is to take a supplement that contains live cultures, there is also a small amount of the live cultures in yogurt.
Tell your sister to cut back on sugar, eat low sugar yogurt, keep her privates very clean (just water, no soap), and pick up some Acidophilus/ Bifidum at a health food store. You know they are the best quality when they keep them in a fridge at the store (drug stores don't have those brands).
Good luck!
