Hi, I have been nursing my baby for a year and still never had a period yet?
I just really don't get it! Is something wrong with me? I am pretty thin. Could it have to do with that? I've never given my baby one bottle before. I've been the entire milk source. But twelve months later, still, no period. What's going on?
Answers:
This is normal
Nature does not want you to become pregnant while you already have a young baby.
Breast milk is stimulated by a hormone prolactin-sucking raises this level.Prolactin also can stop you from ovulating therefore no period. The greater the frequency of suckling the higher the prolactin level.
You cannot however rely on breast feeding for contraception.

That is normal not to have a period when breastfeeding.

You most likely wont: I breastfed two children and it took at least a couple of months after stopping to get my period back, however I was very thin when I was breastfeeding to and that's pretty common if you're nursing and active. Try eating a bit more, but don't worry, once you're done you'll put a little bit back on (that is, if you want to):)
