Do you need parental Consent to go to a gyneCologist if your under 18?

Question:

Answers:
As Far as I Know You Dont.
Not at all, your now adult.
in most cases yes as a physician can be held liable providing services to a minor child, most procedures will require legal consent as well, you may visit a women's clinic depending on the state and purpose of your visit to get around parental consent, but there is nothing you can hide from your parents that will not eventually come to light, better now than later!
IF you are going for a routine check to get established with an OB/Gyn you do not have to be 18. I had my first appt when I was 15. I have gone for yearly checkups ever since.

Due to HIPPA practices, anything you discuss with your doctor is confidential.

If you are under 18 and there is a need for surgery, you would need parental consent.

Just make an appt and proceed from there.
