Period (tampon) questions.?

It could be the tampon is too large if you found it hurt. Start with the slimmest tampon, insert it, check for comfort. If uncomfortable, remove and try again and again until you "get it right," and it is comfortable. Wear a panty liner at the same time. If you notice leaks (hence, the panty liner for extra protection), go up to the next size tampon - and so on until you achieve the absorption you need and the panty liner essentially stays clear.
i also use pads but...its probably gona hurt the 1st time cuz ur muscles arent used to it
practice and use slim or light tampons works 4 me!!
good luck!!
i know how you feel. it only goes halfway up and then it feels like there's a wall there. try to angle the tampon towards your back and trust me it will get through! relax and think of your favorite song or movie. and tell yourself that if your friends can do it, so can you. good luck! and don't give up!
It hurts because you didn't insert it in far enough. If you insert it properly you shouldn't be able to feel it at all. Remove the one you have in and try again. This time push it in as far as you can reach. It can't get lost in your body so don't worry about that. Be sure you relax before inserting, it hurts more when you're tense. Hope this helps. And if it still hurts after trying this you may just not be ready for them. It takes some people longer to get used to the concept of a foreign object in your body. I was 19 when I started using them.
take it out and try again you have really got to relax and make sure you push it straight up and not at an angle.if it goes wrong just try again and remember they dont suit everyone
hope this helps
You need to get the slender fitting (Tampax makes them). It does take a little getting use to, but the freedom it provides is wonderful.
Like the other girls said, you should be using the smallest one possible. Secondly, its easier when your flow is heavier. This will help it slide in easier. Make sure you "aim" it towards your lower back (on an angle). Also, you have to push the plunger thingy in almost all the way before you push out the actual tampon. It has to be far enough inside. That is probably why it feels uncomfortable. When it is in properly, you will not feel it at all.
Hope this helps!
your friend is right they are a lifesaver!
Start out using a light absorbant tampon I to was nervouse my 1st time inserting a tampon I was in the 9th grade before I wore one and wish I would have done it alot sooner. Just relax and follow the directions on the paper insert. Dont try with a paper or cardbourd tampon they are more difficult to deal with I would reccoment "tampax pearls" they are my favs. And dont worrie about it getting "lost" becouse it wont. Just relax and make sure u insert it in far! Angle is up tworge your back
Just keep trying. If it is causing you discomfort, take it out! Lie on your back and try to insert it, it always works for me. It probably just hurts because your vaginal muscles aren't used to having a tampon up there. Hope this helps, and good luck xo

Well when you insert a tampon it shouldn't hurt maybe your doing something wrong, but thats okay this should help. First off you need to relax because the vagina is the strongest muscle in your body and when you tense up the muscle contracts which makes it harder to insert a tampon. I suggest getting the tampax pearl or playtex gentil glide because they have small plastic applicators. When first using tampons get the lowest absorbancy is makes it easier to insert because they are smaller. Just read the directions and relax. Don't forget to angle the tampon toward the small of your back. Thats the most common mistake that girls make and if you don't insert a tampon at an angle then you will hit the wall of your vagina which will be a little uncomfortable.Also once you get the tampon in you shouldn't feel anything, but if you do that means that you didn't insert the tampon far enough in. Just take your finger and push it in farther until you can't feel it. If you need anymore information check out these site;

The reason you're hurting is because you didn't insert the tampon high enough. Also, you aimed up. The vagina lies flat so aim towards your tailbone horizontally and it will go through. Tampons are made to be worn high so make sure you get the entire applicater in their up to the fingergrips and then push it open to make sure it's in the right place. And since you're a beginner, it's better to use Playtex SlimFits because they're smaller than normal tampons and because they have a plastic applicater for easier insertion.
Good Luck (:
There should be instructions on the box that tell you how to insert it correctly. You should probably use slim ones if you're not using them already. If you can feel it and it's uncomfortable, it is not in right. Get a new one and try again.
