Girls: what's the best birth control for u, and why?

Question:

Answers:
It depends what's best for you, personally. If you're not in a commited relationship, condoms are a good way to go.

If you are, birth control comes with very low failure rates (as long as you remember to take it). If you're under 180 lbs, the patch may be your most convenient option, and the nuva-ring is also a very good choice. It has lower hormones because it's so close to the source. I've heard nothing but good about it.

If you don't want to deal with anything at all, Depo provera lasts for 3 months (although some people, like me, had problems with weight gain and a lot of bleeding. My sis-in-law never had either).

And IUD is a good choice, but some doctors prefer you to have children before using it. It's totally carefree (other than occasional checking for strings), and is good for either 5 or 10 years depending on the brand. Unfortunately, if it's not covered by insurance, it can be $500 - 600.

Then there are caps, diaphragms, sponges, and other options.

Personally, I use condoms, since my insurance doesn't cover b/c or an IUD. They are by far the cheapest way to go, and if you get the right brand, you can barely feel them.
Definitely the pill because it's easy to take and if you remember it all the time it renders itself 99% effective :)
The condom. I was on the injection, but with all this talk about blood clotting and heart attacks from not having any periods for 3 months is scaring me. i was on the injection because i cannot remember to take the pill. But i am worried about more than pregnancy. disesease is what i really worry about. i dont trust anyone else with my life.
I love my vasectomy.
I take the progesterone-only pill which is great because I have a thyroid condition and shouldn't take estrogen (which is what's in most birth control). It's also helped me a lot with mood swings and stopped me from getting horrible headaches right before my period.

That said, I still feel safest using a condom.
well the best birth control for me is the pill i take apri its generic ortho-cept and iam on the meduim dosage of this pill. its 98% effective and it dosn't make me sick. i tired another pill along time ago and it made me sick. so thats what i take its safe and effective. And thats great for me cause i do not wish to have any kids.
however there are lots of bc forms outhere, my gyno told me that the nueva ring is a great one, in fact i was gonna use it my self but the insurance wouldn't cover it.
i know peple who have used the depo shot and its effective but it can cause complications at least in their cases with long term use.
and of course the old stand by of condoms.

talk to your obyn and they will suggest one thats right for you!
