What is this attributed to?
Question:
Since I've started taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen I've noticed a large quantity of thick, white discharge gathering in the vulval area. It doesn't itch and it doesn't smell but, as you can imagine, it is an incredible inconvenience.
Is this due to the medicine or could it be something else? (I just want an idea of what's going on before I ask my doctor, rest assured I plan to do so.)
Thanks!
Answers:
You can ask your doctor about it, obviously, but this is quite normal when new medication is introduced to the body.
It is probably asking for some adaptation from your hormones.
Normal vaginal discharge has several purposes: cleaning and moistening the vagina and helping to prevent and fight infections. Although it's normal for the color, texture, and amount of vaginal fluids to vary throughout a girl's menstrual cycle, some changes in discharge may indicate a problem. Normal vaginal fluids can vary somewhat in texture and color. They can be somewhat thin, sticky, and elastic or thick and gooey. Vaginal fluids should be clear, white, or off-white in color. Im pretty sure you problem is normal of your body
