what is the absolute best way to treat a sunburn?

Question:
I've always worn sunscreen but today it was forgotten, it's really red and i'm afraid it's bad!
Please help

Answers:
Use cool wet compresses for first 48 hours. Do not use ice.
Cool oatmeal baths (Aveeno, etc.) may be helpful. You may use aloe in first 48 hour. NO lotions or petroleum jelly in the first 48 hours!! These hold in the heat! Apply moisturizing lotions after 48 hours. Aspirin taken as directed on the label may help ease pain. Seek medical attention if fever, fluid-filled blisters, dizziness or visual disturbances are present.

Other Answers:
drink water and rub aloe on it. see a doctor.
put some pure aloe vera on it ..if not then aloe vera gell from the store
Calomime lotion
One way is to just carefully pour vinegar (yeah it sounds gross) but make sure it is at room temp. or you could go into shock. Other remmedies are of course, aloe, lukewarm baking soda baths but I wouldn't bathe because of the shock factor. Try the vinegar; after 20 years of boating & scuba diving I know that to work just as good if not better than 100% aloe. Good luck & keep me posted.
